Not that you would be surprised or anything, but this is not the post I had in mind for today. The one originally planned involved more investigative reporting and serious application on my part and I could see that wasn’t going to happen.
Instead, I thought I would show you a few of my favorite things. Think of them as “in general” — sort of jumping off points. You’ll notice as always, I tend to stay on the straight and narrow, not to mention neutral.
The gloves for example, these from Agnelle, could be any color your heart desires and do not have to be opera length. The idea is color!
Edith and I do plan to start working together again and you know she’ll add color to our creations. (Edith for those of you who have not met her, is one of my first and best French friends, she is also an artist. On Sunday afternoons we collaborate and take off on virtual shopping trips, then she draws the results.)
From the top: plum velvet jacket with lurex piping, Vanessa Seward for La Redoute; the quirky sweater/jacket/bolero-ish jacket, is from Paul & Joe Sister; the hybrid tuxedo/blazer is by Vanessa Bruno — imagine it over gray flannel trousers, too, too chic; spiffy embroidery changes the military feel of this Antik Batik jacket; for those who don’t like camel, this The Kooples black trimmed blazer might be a perfect compromise and looks so elegant with a black skirt or pants; and finally the classic camel polo coat nipped in at the waist — an interesting twist if not for everyone– from Comptoir des Cotonniers.
