It’s almost impossible to walk down any rue or boulevard in Paris and not see someone wearing a straw fedora.
The huge capelines have yet — and may never — hit the streets. Fedoras are somehow more egalitarian and they allow peripheral vision, which the huge YSL version worn by Salma Hayek at the French Open and on the fashion runways do not.
Men are wearing them. Women are wearing them. I love them.
They’re most certainly a wear if you dare accessory, but they look great on everyone.
We saw a tall, multi-colored stack of them in the Musée Jacquemart-André boutique.
I own one, but never wear it. It’s a long story.
The cupboards are bare so must hit the shops and markets.
