Fraises des bois, sweet and lovely, were my latest wish-upon-a-fruit treat today.
In line with the first rules of journalism taught to me by one of my favorite professors: “The desert island theory of reportage,” as in not everyone is au courant about a topic that has been discussed on several occasions in this space. . .
I shall explain the fruit/wish connection. According to French tradition, or at least according to several of my friends, in each new calendar year every time we eat a fruit for the first time we are allowed to make a wish.
As I’ve mentioned, I make the same wish each time. Many of you may prefer to expand your options. My wish is so important that I’m working on the repetition for emphasis theory. Maybe that will make it come true — the power of positive thinking and all that.
The week ahead will be full of surprises I’m certain will entertain and delight you.
Weather report: Sun, blue skies, warm temperatures, just the slightest breeze. In a word: perfect.
