|Carla has a new job.|
Most exciting on the line-up today is another of my riffs on age at the brilliant, I mean seriously brilliant, intelligent, fun High50USA site. I’m sure you’ll become an addict. It’s for those of us who have hit 50 at some point in our lives and feel life is worth celebrating. You’ll see.
Yesterday the post was on the British site, today it’s on the USA site. (They gave me a two-fer.)
On to The News & Views:
Re-Learning the Alphabet
We discussed the complicated virtues and differences between the “anyone who doesn’t own them, must run out and buy them” BB and CC creams. Which, naturally, I did.
Shortly thereafter I discovered, which you may have as well, that DD creams are on the horizon. Isn’t it exciting to think there are 22 more letters in the alphabet? I’m assuming that we can forget about A because heaven knows we don’t do “vintage” i.e. go back in the world of high maintenance treatment products.
BB, if you recall, means Beauty Balm or Blemish Balm, CC means Color Correction and DD means Dynamic Do-All or Disguise & Diminish. I can hardly wait for EE, “Easy Erase” or FF “Fabulous Face” or GG “Gorgeous Glow” . . . I’m thinking marketing could be my next career move. . .
According to the hype, there isn’t much the DD creams won’t/can’t do, for example, sun protection 25 SPF, primer, moisturizer, anti-aging agent (ob-vi-ous-ly) and all that with a choice of colors.
Are You Stressss-ed?
An herboriste told Madame Figaro magazine that if we take a few minutes to do a clockwise self-massage on the solar plexus with an essential oil like lavender or marjoram, all stress will evaporate. First challenge: find the solar plexus.
Lacy, But Not Racy
For those of us who avoid frou-frou at every turn, yet some how want just a touch of lace that shows (you get my point?), how about these derbies by Riccardo Tisci for Givenchy? The lace covers leather, in case you were concerned about how they might withstand the test of time. Considering they ring up at about 1300 Euros one would like them to be sturdy enough for a few wearings, n’est-ce pas?
Back To the Grind
