Since we’re among friends, I thought I would turn to you for help and advice.
The publication date for my book is October 15, at which time I will be in the States. Now, my question is this: Do you have any ideas, suggestions, whatever comes to mind about how I can promote the book? I do hate the word “promote” but it is what it is. It sounds crass and I can’t think of a suitable euphemism. I also see promotion as an opportunity to meet some of you in real time.
Of course Rizzoli is working on its side and everyone there is truly exceptional. I have an old friend who has written a few books who once told me not to expect hand-holding and stroking from either an agent or a publisher these days. She said in the past writers were treated with délicatesse, but those days are long gone. That was not the case for me in this superb adventure. I had my hand held and experienced nothing but encouragement and kindness.
If you have any ideas, would you take a minute or two to e-mail me at firstname.lastname@example.org
You will note the mix of stripes and florals on the cover and the fact that the shoes do not match her Hermes bag. She is walking her spritely French bull dog.
Merci par avance.
