|When you start resorting to kumquats and persimmons (below) you know you have been through most of the fruits in your local market.|
Do you recall, I think it was late fall of last year, when I told you about one of my favorite French traditions? The one about making a wish the first time in each new year when we eat a new fruit?(Actually, I’m not certain it should be called a “tradition” but many of my friends — and I — abide by it just in case.)
The time has now come to tell you that my wish came true.
|Andrea and Will actually went to “swaddling” classes. Here you see the professional swaddle done by the nurse at the hospital.|
Last Sunday night Ella Madeleine Fletcher was born, Andrea and Will’s first baby and, as you know, our first grandchild. All I can think is: “little girl clothes.” (Well, that’s not all I’m thinking, but you know what I mean. . .)
You see, it never hurts to wish and wish and wish and, of course, eat your fruit. Fruit is full of wonderful nutrients. . . It’s a win-win.
