As many of you know, we are an international group of bloggers — By Invitation Only (BIO) — and each month we decide on a subject to discuss. Then, without elaboration, each of us takes on the topic and interprets it according to our individual taste and temperament.
This time our “assignment” was to choose two fall outfits from the 2013/14 fall/winter pret–a–porter collections, but here’s what makes it even more fun than just your every day virtual shopping expedition: one of our choices must be something we would really like to own, the other must be something we wouldn’t even wear around the house (unless someone paid us to do so).

My first choice was easy. When in doubt, I always say, turn to Armani. In a perfect world I would open a closet to an almost exclusive Armani wardrobe. Look at the possibilities in this perfect mix of masculine/feminine. Break it apart and imagine how you could wear the jacket. . . and the skirt. . . gorgeous. We often don’t think about filmy, feminine skirts, but we should. They are exquisitely flattering and can be either classic our girly. I would buy this outfit in a second. You know me though, I wish it were in black or navy even though I understand it’s stunning in this clotted cream beige.
|Comme des Garcons|
Moving right along. . . Above is my “wouldn’t be caught dead in this coat from Comme des Garcons unless you paid me to wear it in the privacy of my own home — alone.” Somehow I feel as if I don’t have to explain why.
Talk about your “bold statement” garment. Enough said.
