Here and below the unspeakably chic — yes it’s true — chaussons (slippers) from Collegien. Aren’t they adorable?
Andrea chose the one’s on the left for her friend’s son, Leo.
I don’t know about you, but I love to hear about the requests we Americans (and other “Anglo Saxons” as the French call us) deliver — either as special requests or gifts — to our friends and family after a visit to France.
So as not to overwhelm you, this will be a series arranged as much as possible by category, i.e. clothes, beauty and food.
I’ll also show you what I bought for Andrea and Ella and tell you about a little notebook I made for Andrea filled with beauty tips.
Today you’ll see some of the items Drea brought back to the States and to whom she gave them.
I threw in the herbs, salt and my “can’t live without bouillon” while Andrea added the tea and the Cote d’Or dark chocolate bar.
Her sister (*) requested cookies, one of her best friends asked for a pair of Collegian shoes for her almost two-year-old son, Andrea’s husband needed a fix of mini Lyon candy bars and his favorite mustard, and their dog walker loves Suchard chocolates.
(I think I’ve told you about Drea’s half-sister, Catherine. She lived with us off-and-on for a few months one year and visits regularly. I absolutely love her and refer to her as my niece because, as you can imagine, explaining our relationship is waaaay to complicated. She is like my niece, lucky me.)
Truly exceptional, not hot, and it’s wonderful whisked into a vinaigrette.
I introduced my son-in-law to the absolutely divine mustard, Fins Gourmets from Maille. Now Will needs his supply replenished regularly. I certainly understand.
The all around perfect gift for almost every occasion. It’s a particularly good choice as a hostess gift and the best part is, your hostess will open the box and offer her chocolates to everyone with their coffee. It’s a win-win.
A wonderful friend of Drea’s who helped ease her comfort — and Ella’s — while traveling here from Chicago will receive a box of covetable Maison de Chocolat chocolates.
*Ed. Note:Again, and again thank you for your kind, kind words and support for Charlotte (if you could meet her you would love her). We still, after days and days of tests do not know what is wrong with her. What we established to date is what isnotmaking her sick. She had a full day of tests that required anaesthesia yesterday and we won’t have the results back for several days. She has a constant low-grade temperature which leaves her listless, panting and exhausted.
While waiting for the next result, we’ve decided to be happy with everything the clinic discovered is not making her ill.Et voila. Ourcoupeis half full if you will.
