|Yes, I’ve talked about this before, but I’m not sure I told you that it’s a two-fer and I’ve tested it to great results.|
You may recall, I’ve mentioned Baume Beauté Eclair from Clarins on at least a couple of occasions. I’m addicted to it as the source of that enviable glow we all so dearly love.
One of the experts at Clarins told me while I was working on my book that makeup artists often refer to the product as “Cinderella in a tube.” It’s a pale peachy pink and you only need a small dollop for the face and neck. It is to be lightly applied and then not rubbed in, but rather pat, pat, patted. If one uses a foundation product, it should be applied immediately.
OK, that’s the first use of the product. The second is as a masque which is how I’ve been using it lately because I ran out of my Avène Masque Apaisant Hydratant. (All I have to do to replenish my supply is to jump in my car and visit my pal Christine at her pharmacy, five minutes from our house, but I have my eye on a new masque I want to try.)
|As you know, I’ve been loyal to this masque for years, but I think I’ve discovered something new and fun I want to try even though I’ll probably return to this one. As always, I’ll keep you au courant.|
As I was saying, as a masque: This time apply in a thickish layer and leave it on either for 15 minutes and then rinse with warm water or go to bed, which is what I did three nights last week as well as last night. The results are divine — let’s be frank it’s not like a peel or anything radical or scary, but my skin is deeply hydrated and glow-y from the second I roll out of bed. I rinse with warmish then cool water and my day starts on a positive note.
For optimum results, Dominique Rist, director of development and formation of skin care products for Clarins, recommends that after applying the baume as a masque to then “take five extra minutes and press the skin gently with fingertips, commencing from the center of the face toward the exterior. Concentrate for a moment on the cheeks, and then press against the forehead and temples and finally move to the décolleté.”
Prior to my morning rinse I’ve already looked at My Chihuahua Bites pedicure and I figure all is right with the world. You’re probably thinking my next move should be to an appointment with a professional to see what’s wrong with my mental health.
