|Now it’s in Italian.|
This morning a large Fed Ex package arrived with six books in Italian. I knew about them of course, but hadn’t seen them until today. My book in its first translation.
The entire book publishing process was mystifying, or at least it was to me. It began with finding my wonderful agent who held my hand during the writing of the 100-plus page proposal for the book I had been dreaming about writing. Then there was the stressssss of waiting to hear back from publishers. A couple asked for pictures of me, another wanted videos — clearly they were thinking “is she presentable for promotion purposes?”.
This went on for months. Not fun at all. One said if I made it “younger” they were interested, another said France was “so over.” Rizzoli liked the idea just the way it was presented and no one asked for my picture or to see if I looked and sounded acceptable on television.
|The flip side.|
Here then is my newest “baby” (you know, as in pet project, dream come true, etc.). It’s so unspeakably exciting.
Thank you for making it all possible. Without you, this never would have happened.
