What does one wear under those worrisome situations where we haven’t seen someone or a group of “someones” in 30, 40, or even 50 years?
In other words the invitation just arrived for our class reunion.
It seems to me when the envelope is opened (I’m assuming it’s not an email although I could be assuming incorrectly) a few panic provoking thoughts leap to mind:
- I’m not going. . .
- How has everyone else “held-up” over the decades?
- How have I held-up?
- What should I wear if I do decide to attend.
Never mind, you’re going and I have several ideas for what you can wear.I think a dress is most definitely the perfect solution and perhaps not a LBD this time. How about navy blue? It’s a kinder color and lends itself beautifully to gorgeous accessorizing.
Depending upon one’s figure, I’ve found several solutions. For each dress there is a pair of kitten heels because theoretically reunions by definition mean lots of standing around.
Remember please some of these dresses are quite expensive, but the shapes are ideas and as I was searching for them I began to realize that they might come under the definition of serious longterm investments.
They are all precisely right for the following occasions: weddings, cocktail parties, dressy dinners and graduations. I think they are what many in the biz call “work horse” dresses, as unglamorous as that sounds.
I’ve always thought it rather sad that in France there are no graduation ceremonies either for high school or college and therefore no class reunions. I think everyone is missing out on important life changing rituals that merit some sort of fete.
But I digress. . . Back to our subject: Do you agree that for a class reunion you would wear a dress? Or would you rather wear some version of trousers?
