Suddenly our social life is taking on a new dimension.
Last night was the high point of our “social season” when we dined at the new and newly decorated apartment of old friends we haven’t seen in almost eight years.
Although we don’t see each other as often as we would like, mainly because for the last several years Scott and Ping have been living in Hong Kong, we have one of those friendships where it seems as if the conversation picks up where we left off the last time we were together.
It was like that yesterday. We arrived home at 2:45 a.m. Charlotte as very happy to see us.
Scott and I became friends when he was the art director and I was the editor of Boulevard, a glossy English language magazine in Paris. We had a great deal of fun together even though the magazine ultimately didn’t survive.
Happily, the friendship that developed among the four of us did.
Scott and Ping are artists in every sense of the word. They had their own design firm in Hong Kong with international clients for whom they created books, products and brand images. More on that another day.
Now I want to tell you about last night’s menu. Scott was the chef.

You can see how lucky we are. And, the conversation was geopolitically fascinating interspersed with updates on our children, they have a son who is studying to be an architect in the States, and we gave them the latest news on Andrea whom they’ve known since she was a teenager.
Please return tomorrow, when I’ll show you something very special from Scott and Ping.
