August 4th was the final, official, government controlled day of the soldes. I found two little tops for Ella, marked down to practically nothing. Sometimes there are little — and in this case literally small — treasures lying limply and forgotten at the bottom of a bin filled with stuff you wouldn’t want if someone gave it to you.
The subject of the soldes brings me to my aqua gym friend, Jocelyne. When she came out of the dressing room yesterday she was wearing a new, bright purple-y blue bikini. She looked gorgeous and she was wearing a real bikini as opposed to what one might call a two-piece swimsuit.
I didn’t have my camera with me, but she promised to don her other new bikini today, which you can see she did.
“I wasn’t looking for anything really, but there they were — the one I have on today and another one in turquoise which I’ll wear tomorrow,” she told me.
When I asked her if I could take her picture again, she said, “If you like. . .”
She wears almost no makeup, has an easy care hair cut, and what I find remarkable is that she comes to the pool “dressed” which makes me wonder where she has been and where she’s going.
Then I remind myself she’s French and she probably thinks, “you just never know, it’s always best to look your best.”
She always smells delicious as well.
