It’s that time of month again when the members of the international By Invitation Only group address our assigned subject. “Assigned” meaning someone has an idea, it’s tossed around, most everyone seems to agree with the suggestion and from that moment forward, the conversation ends. Each of us addresses the topic in our own way. That’s what makes it interesting.
This time out we are to discuss: Our take everywhere, can’t leave home without item/items of clothing (that includes accessories I’m assuming) OR something we’ve just added to our wardrobes this fall and are convinced will make us glad we did.
You will note the question mark in the post’s title. It is there because, once again, I’m in a quandary. I’m beginning to sort through my clothes to pack for my trip to the States and I am wondering what item or items belong in my suitcase. As I’ve mentioned, I have a few book signings all of which are cocktail parties.
Then there is “Passport to France” the major event of the French American Chamber of Commerce in Chicago and finally off to Hilton Head for Thanksgiving.
I feel as if these affairs require considerable thought and attention to detail and some intelligence so that I don’t take too much, but at the same time don’t forget that thing I shouldn’t have left home without.
It will come as no surprise to you that the foundation of my travel wardrobe will be black. I swear, I seriously considered navy blue but it just didn’t work out. You see why the leopard shawl/scarf makes sense. And, because I’m so whimsical. . . I’ll wear my leopard ballerinas with it at least once or twice.
Ah, but there is one thing I always take with me when I travel, now that I think of it (and just subjected you to an entire stream of consciousness post). It’s my black leather Chanel cross-body bag that My-Reason-For-Living-In-France gave me not long after we were married.
This time I’ll have several occasions to use it, including one with my leopards no doubt.
Certainly you want to see what the other members of the BIO group have to say. All you need to do to be directed to their posts is to click on our founder’s site, Splenderosa. Among the regulars, you will meet our newest member, Laura Wilson, who is giving me a book signing party in her shop on Nov. 11. Maybe you can join us?
