Sturdy and stylish, indeed they are.
When I say “stylish” I’m referring to the prominent place these pumped up pumps had on the international runways for fall and winter. Whether one considers them desirable accessories is another conversation.
Admittedly, there is something reassuring about them — those solid heels, the rounded toes, sometimes straps and buckles to anchor them safely on the foot, no need to fear wobbling. All the components of risk-free movement seem to be present.
Still, are you on board?
My guess is they represent about 30 percent of the new shoes offerings in the category of “high heels.” They come in myriad heights, one is not obliged to go sky-high. And, I must say, at the mid to low-ish levels, and since they have the imprimatur of the world’s most glamorous designers, I’m thinking: Maybe, why not?
Then again, can I ever step out of my ballerinas, moccasins and sweet little kitten heels?
Yes, perhaps I can. What do you think — maybe one pair, just for fun?
