Reinvention is a subject that I find absolutely fascinating. I would love to hear your stories about how you have changed your life and how you went about doing it. Did outside circumstances push you or force you to reconsider your reinvention or did you discover your current endeavors weren’t offering you the fulfillment you desired?
Let’s share our stories. I think we can all learn from one another.
Now, let me tell you what, once again, brought the subject to my attention recently. My daughter, who has reinvented herself (and is using her French every day now) as the executive director of the French-American Chamber of Commerce in Chicago, has, in that role, helped put together a breakfast event to explore the challenges, frustrations and joys that transition and reinvention play in one’s life.
The organization’s Women for Women Committee (W4W) has invited Lesley Jane Seymour, the former editor of MORE magazine, who has totally reinvented her career (and is helping other women do the same), to be the keynote speaker. Ana Dutra, the CEO of the Executives’ Club of Chicago, will be the moderator of the event.

If I didn’t have to continue working on my book, I would figure out a way to be in Chicago for this breakfast. I do urge you to go if you live anywhere near the city. Lesley is anxious to hear about women’s reinvention experiences so that she can share their stories in her new adventure. She’ll tell you all about her latest reinvention and her experiences in the process.
