France’s First Lady (although the French don’t use those words because they want us to know — clearly — that it was her husband who was elected to office and her job is to support him without giving her even a meaningless title) wore Louis Vuitton again at the NATO conference in Belgium on Thursday.
As you can see it appears she went slightly shorter than the blue Louis Vuitton suit she wore on her husband’s inauguration day. She, like the other spouses, with the exception of Melania Trump, did not change out of her LBD for the meeting with Queen Mathilde at the Royal Castle of Laeken early in the evening. Madame Trump was the only woman who opted for cocktail attire, the others continued the day wearing the dresses in which they started the day.
The French and British press have set up the two wives, both new to the international stage, as fashion rivals. Maybe other countries did as well. Rather silly don’t you think?
Madame Macron’s major accessory was her monogramed Louis Vuitton cross-body sac.
Do weigh-in on what you think about the spouses’ (or partners’) sartorial choices for the very visible major outing.
Have you read about the bromance between Emmanuel Macron and Justin Trudeau? So cute. They were seen in a couple of tete-a-tete encounters chatting animatedly in French. Also, the French president, it was reported, used his excellent English when speaking with President Trump and Prime Minister Theresa May.
Absolutely loved hearing from you about Madame Macron’s blue suit. Now, please tell me what you think about what she and the other women wore in Brussels as their significant others donned blue suits and mostly navy ties and debated about the world’s most important issues.
One thing I don’t understand though: Those navy blue ties. . .couldn’t some of them have a polka dot or two or maybe a stripe?
